Umrah visas issuance to resume after Hajj

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has assured Bangladesh of resuming issuace of Umrah visas to Bangladeshi pilgrims after the next Hajj. Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Nizar Bin Obaid Madani gave the assurance about resuming issuance of Umrah visas to the Bangladeshi people during a meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart Shahriar Alam in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh on Monday. During the meeting the Saudi state minister also dropped a broad hint at importing more manpower from Bangladesh for various sectors of the oil rich Middle-Eastern country. When contacted, counsellor (political) of Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh Mosharaf Hossain said the Saudi minister expressed willingness of his country to import human resources from Bangladesh at the meeting. He further said the two leaders also talked about several other issues related to the interest of the two brotherly countries. Shahriar Alam also thanked the Saudi government for announcing general amnesty for foreigners in 2014. The state minister for foreign affairs of Bangladesh also requested the Saudi government to import drugs, readymade garments (RMG), jute and jute products, hides, plastic and ceramic products from Bangladesh. Later, they participated in a lunch.
