Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel recovered 0.1 million (1 lakh) pieces of Yaba tablet from Natun Transit Ghat area at Jaliapara in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday. Lieutenant Colonel Abujar Al Zahid, commanding officer of BGB-42, said being tipped off that a boat carrying a consignment of Yaba tablets was coming on the Naf River, a team of the border force, led by Habildar Lutfar Rahman, conducted a raid at Natun Transit Ghat around 12.10am. Sensing the presence of the BGB team, the smugglers managed to flee leaving behind a packet containing 0.1 million pieces Yaba. Later, BGB members recovered the packet. The price of the seized Yaba tables would be approximately Tk30 million, according to UNB.
