A Chinese firm has now submitted an 'unsolicited' proposal to Bangladesh government to build a 250-kilometre pipeline between Dhaka and Chittagong to carry petroleum from the port city to the capital, officials said.
The bid by China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPPB) happens to be one of a good number of China's major business undertakings in Bangladesh in recent times.
A subsidiary of China's state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), the CPPB submitted the proposal to the state-run Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) recently to build the country's first refined petroleum-carrying pipeline.
