A housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at Nunchhora village in Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet district on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Hajira Begum, 25, wife of Jahir Uddin, a resident of the village. Locals said Hajira killed herself by hanging from a beam in the ceiling of the house. On information, police recovered the body around and sent it to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Kamal Uddin, a sub-inspector of Kanaighat Police Station, confirmed the incident, according to a news agency.
