15-yr-old boy chopped dead in Gopalganj

Miscreants have hacked a 15-year-old boy to death in Gopalganj town in yet another case of brutality against children in Bangladesh. Police recovered the body of 10th grader Minar Kazi from near his home in Teghoria on Monday. He was the son of retired Border Guard Bangladesh officer Saheb Ali Kazi, a freedom fighter. Saheb Ali told reporters that Minar had gone missing after he left home to offer Isha prayers at a nearby mosque on Sunday night. The neighbours found the boy’s body about 500 yards from their home, he said. Minar’s throat was cut and there were wounds from sharp weapons on his body. Gopalganj Sadar Police Station’s OC Md Jakir Hossain Molla said the body was sent to Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Preparations were underway to lodge a case over the murder, he added. Minar’s murder comes at a time when there is outcry across Bangladesh over the recent spate of brutal murders of children and assaults on minors, according to bdnews24.com.
