Mintu Khan, a so-called uncle of M Omar Sharif, the prime accused in the Rakib killing case, reportedly has confessed to his crime before a Khulna court. Metropolitan Magistrate M Faruk Iqbal recorded the statement of Mintu under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). On August 3, minor boy Rakib, who used to work at a motorcycle garage (repairing workshop) at Tutpara Central Road in Khulna city, was tortured to death allegedly by his former employers over quitting job.
