Suspected terrorists killed a man and dumped his body in a canal near his house in Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali district on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Md Abdur Rashid 70, son of Md Abdur Rahman, hailed from Rasulpur village under Bajra union in the upazila. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonaimuri police station Kazi Haniful Islam Bhuiyan quoting his son Md Raihan said Abdur Rashid left his house on Saturday morning and remained missing since then. Locals found his body floating in the canal and informed the inmates of his house. Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body from the canal. The body bore an injury mark. It was sent to Noakhali Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College Hospital for autopsy in the afternoon, according to a news agency.
