Bangladeshis159 more return Monday

Another 159 Bangladeshi migrants are set to return home from neighbouring Myanmar on Monday. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-17 officials said the 159 trafficking victims are set to arrive at Cox’s Bazar at some time between Sunday morning and afternoon. They said that the fortune seekers will be handed over to the BGB personnel after a meeting with Myanmar Immigration Department at Chambu town administrative building on Monday morning. The date of their return originally had been fixed on July 30 and later shifted to August 5. However, the date of their return has again been shifted. The officials of both BGB and Myanmar Immigration Department re-fixed the date on Aug 10. Myanmar’s Navy personnel rescued 727 migrants from their water. Among the rescued people, a total of 160 were handed over to the BGB after identifying them as Bangladeshis, according to a news agency.
