Another girl of Garo tribe has allegedly been raped in Bhatara near Badda in Dhaka city, where a girl of the same tribe was raped two-and-half months ago. Police sent the girl to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for medical test after her family lodged a case around 9pm on Tuesday. Bhatara Police Station OC Nurul Mostakin said the mother of the victim alleged in the case that ‘Alamgir’, who she described as a stalker, launched the sexual assault at their house in Nayanagar under Bhatara Police Station. “The mother of the girl works in a private firm. She alleged her daughter was raped when she went to work,” Mostakin said. He said police were looking for the accused. In May, a Garo girl was gang-raped on a moving microbus in Badda and Uttara areas of Dhaka city. Five men hauled the Garo girl onto a microbus at Biswa Road in Kuril Badda on May 22 and took turns raping her in a chilling reminder of the fatal gang-rape of an Indian female student on a Delhi bus a few years ago, according to a news agency.
