Wednesday is set to maintain the macabre vibe of the famous Addams family.

Wednesday is set to maintain the macabre vibe of the famous Addams family.

The Addams Family was first introduced in the 1930s by American cartoonist Charles Addams. An aristocratic family with ties to supernatural beings displaying comedy became a quick success in America.

The comic series was adapted into TV series, live-action and animated movies numerous times. The Addams couple had its influence on recent Halloween trends too, with people dressing up like them and this Halloween dress-up being popular on social media.

Recently, Netflix took the initiative to revive the fame of the ‘90s Addams Family films by creating a spin-off show based on the eldest Addams child, Wednesday.

Tim Burton was chosen to direct half of the episodes; he is acclaimed for his Gothic Fantasy genre shows. With him as director, Wednesday is set to maintain the macabre vibe of the famous Addams family.

In the previous depictions, Wednesday Addams was a child. But in this show, she is now an adolescent, getting kicked out of multiple schools for torturing her peers and finally admitting herself to the Nevermore Academy, where her parents went.

This boarding school is a reminder of Hogwarts from Harry Potter, with a gothic tinge. This is a haven for outcasts such as sirens, werewolves, and vampires—also for Wednesday. There she finds Enid Sinclair as her roommate, a cheerful and trigger-happy werewolf, a perfect foil to Wednesday's dark character.

The Addams Family is nothing without mystery and drama, and Wednesday is no exception. Even before going to the Nevermore Academy, she has future visions of whoever she touches. While studying in the academy, she gets visions of her classmates getting killed by monsters and also witnesses them, but the victims seem to survive the next day.

Everyone questions her sanity, but she doesn’t stop until she finds answers. She enlists the help of Thing, just a disembodied hand and one of the Addams family mysteries, Tyler – a normal teenager and son of the local sheriff, famous uncle Fester, and obviously, Enid.

Wednesday finds out this murder mystery involves the nearby town of Jericho and even her parents, who were suspected of murder 30 years ago.

As a teenager with an adult mind, Wednesday finds a variety of challenges. She seems to enjoy being the outcast among other outcasts, but deep inside she struggles to socialize with her friends.

Meanwhile, the murder mystery starts to get convoluted more and more, even resulting in her expulsion from Nevermore. Can she solve this mystery while trying to save herself? This series has the answer.

Tim Burton is excellent at depicting gothic-influenced drama, and Wednesday is no exception. The first four episodes were a treat to watch. The last four episodes seem to disrupt the Tim Burton flow as they were directed by different directors. Yet, they manage to keep Wednesday in the spotlight.

Wednesday is a misanthrope and has a dark, twisted mind. But she deeply cares for people she finds reliable. With hints of another season, the audience will get to see more shades of this complex character.

Actor Shilpa Shetty, who is set to make an acting comeback after more than a decade, has said that even she has people she looks up to for beauty goals. She said that she would like to have Jennifer Lopez's body.

Shilpa Shetty was asked about the compliments she receives for her appearance at 46. She admitted that she gets complimented a lot, but noted that it requires effort.

She told The Quint, "I will not deny it. I will accept that many people say this. Aur main appreciate karti hu ke yeh acknowledge karte hain ke mehnat jaari hai (And I appreciate that the effort is acknowledged). I feel like when they acknowledge, it seems like the yoga worked."

She said that after the birth of her first child, Viaan, she put on 32 kgs. "I just let go of myself. Main paagal ho gayi thi, main sab kuch kha rahi thi, mujhe toh reason chahiye tha khaane ke liye (I went mad, I would eat everything, I didn't need a reason to eat). Toh maine ek din realise kiya ke bhaiya maine bohot saara weight put on kar liya hai (One day I realised that I'd put on a lot of weight). So I'm also like you guys, it's not like it comes naturally. So if I were not to take care of myselg, if I was not disciplined, I would also put on weight. I prioritise what is important, what is not, and I live by yogic principles. I want to have JLo's body! We all have benchmarks. She's 52 I think, and that's amazing. I mean, look at that! There are people who inspire me, too. And I want to be my best when I'm 65," she said.

Bipasha Basu’s next ‘Bhai Must be Crazy’

Bipiasha will star as an intelligence officer in the upcoming comedy flick ‘Bhai Must Be Crazy’.

The film is being directed by the debutant Vinay Sharma, who earlier scripted Sanjay Dutt- Vivek Oberoi starrer Zila Ghaziabad.
Mika Singh has been roped in for composing the music.
Speaking about the film, Vinay Sharma said that Bhai Must Be Crazy is about Bipasha's character chasing Pankaj Kapur, who plays an international don in the film. He added that Bipasha Basu, who will be making an entry with paragliding, has some solid action in the climax. He reasoned that he signed Bipasha Basu because he wanted a tough actress for the role and she fitted the role perfectly. Besides Pankaj Kapur and Bipasha Basu, Bhai Must Be Crazy also stars Sunil Grover (of 'Gutthi' fane) who will be seen playing the role of a tribal in the film.
While Vinay Sharma will be shooting a small portion with Sunil Grover from January 5 in Nepal, his team will be heading to Bangkok in February for a 45-day schedule, according to a news agency.

Salman Khan Says: "It feels like I am turning 27"

Salman Khan Says: "It feels like I am turning 27"

Salman Khan may be turning 50 on Sunday, but the Bollywood superstar says he still feels 27 is the perfect age for him.

“I am turning 27. I think 27-year-old is the right age. I have always liked that age. I am not scared about ageing. It is a part of my journey,” Salman says.

Salman, the son of noted writer Salim Khan, made his debut with a supporting role in “Biwi Ho To Aisi”. His next release “Maine Pyar Kiya” directed by Sooraj Barjatya, gave his career a much needed push.

Over the years, he has gained a great fan base courtesy to his films like “Hum Aapke Hain Koun”, “Karan Arjun”, “Biwi No.1”, “Hum Saath Saath Hain”, “Dabangg”, “Bodyguard”, “Ek Tha Tiger”, “Kick”, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo”, etc.

The actor addressed as “Bhaijaan” is also involved in humanitarian work and tries to help the underprivileged through his charity organization “Being Human”.

His life has been marred by many controversies and legal troubles over his tumultuous relationships, hunting of the endangered Chinkara deer, and the 2002 hit-and-run case.

However, 2015 was a great year for Salman, both personally and professionally. His performance in Kabir Khan-directed film “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” and Sooraj Barjatya’s “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” were appreciated and both the films went on to became huge box office successes.

On the personal front Salman had a major relief in the face of Bombay High Court’s verdict in the 2002 hit-and-run case acquitting him of all charges.

Salman Khan plans gift for fans on his 50th birthday

Salman Khan has had a great year so far with two back-to-back blockbusters – Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo – that released on Eid and Diwali respectively.
The hunk of a superstar will be turning 50 this December and will start shooting for Sultan next month.

Sultan seems to be Salman’s most ambitious project as the Bollywood titan is leaving no stone unturned to deliver his best performance in the film. He is working extremely hard on his physique to justify the role of a wrestler in the film. Salman is also taking personal interest in the scripting of the film and is spending about three hours each day with director Ali Abbas Zafar to give his inputs, reports suggest.

According to a DNA report, Salman intends to gift ‘Sultan’ to his fans, a film that is being built as his fiftieth birthday project. The film is slated to release on Eid 2016 and is reportedly set to clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ at the Box Office.

Deepika Says 'Priyanka was my first friend in Bollywood'

Deepika Says 'Priyanka was my first friend in Bollywood'

Priyanka Chopra-Deepika Padukone bonding dates back to the time when Deepika Padukone entered the industry.

“Priyanka was the first film person I met when I came here,” revealed Deepika and added, “She was a huge star. I had just joined. She was the first friend I made. We were so comfortable shooting for Pinga song that it troubled a few people because it went against what a lot of people thought it would be. People expected it there would be a lot of tension regarding what she wearing and what I am wearing. It was completely different. Sanjay Leela Bhansali would jokingly say why can’t you fight.”

Like soul sisters, Priyanka and Deepika would be there for each other always on sets.

Shared Deepika, “It was great fun. While shooting we watched each other’s back. If there was a step which I would find difficult, she would encourage me and if she would something difficult I would encourage her. There were days when we both wanted to give up and there were days when we both came in with the same kind of energy. It’s been a lot of fun and I couldn’t have asked for a better co-star.”

Priyanka plays the role of Kashibai and Deepika plays Mastani in Bajirao Mastani, according to a media reports. -amh

Tamasha is now the most awaited film

Tamasha is now the most awaited film

Tamasha is now the most awaited film of the season in Indian film industry . The Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer carries a distinct appeal and given the hype around the two young stars, one is rest assured that youth would be pretty much enticed to give it a dekko. In fact producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Imtiaz Ali have come up with a distinct marketing and promotional campaign which is not on your face but yet conveys a clear understanding on what the film is all about, hence making it targeted and high impact.
While Imtiaz continues to be equated with quality cinema, Sajid is on a dream run, what with last year bringing on four straight successes (Kick, 2 States, Heropanti, Highway) and this year's Phantom too starting on a very positive note with a classy treatment to it. Given the fact that the producer goes all out to lend his films an upscale look and feel with no expense spared, one expects yet another big screen entertainer from him.

All of that makes Tamasha the only other Hindi film after Prem Ratan Dhan Payo which promises to bring in audience in theaters next week.

SRK Says Actors have to enjoy awkward situations

SRK Says Actors have to enjoy awkward situations

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan feels an actor has to deal with every kind of situation – even if it is an awkward, weird, strange or uncomfortable one – and show to others as if they are “enjoying” it. “Awkward weird strange uncomfortable. Actors have to do what they have to do and show they are enjoying it. That is the only explanation to start the day,” the 49-year-old, who is currently busy shooting for filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s “Dilwale”, posted on Twitter on Saturday.

“Dilwale”, which is slated to release on December 18, marks the return of Bollywood’s iconic onscreen couple Shah Rukh and Kajol after a hiatus of five years.

Apart from them, the film, whose trailer will release alongside superstar Salman Khan’s “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” on November 12, also stars Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Boman Irani, Vinod Khanna and Johnny Lever.

The “Chennai Express” star also has films like “Fan” and “Raees” in his kitty.

Amitabh Says Music is a complex world

Amitabh Says Music is a complex world

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has never shied away from showcasing his singing talent both on TV and films, feels that music has become a “complex world” as more and more electronic items are being used to create songs. The 73-year-old, who is currently hosting “Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi”, can be seen singing in the beginning of every episode of the new show.

“It’s a complex world, music… it’s gaining knowledge of the electronics more than getting to hit the right notes, in this field…what could possibly go wrong is now being handled by computer intelligence and power…the singing is the least bothersome… with auto tuners around in abundance,” Amitabh posted on his blog. While sharing some of his photographs singing inside a recording room, the “Piku” actor wrote: “The songs of the past get a make over…they demand a price…a price of time and dedicated attention till the right notes are placed in conjunction with the orchestra and those that control the sounds which shall reach the openers of the #AajKiRaatHaiZindagi show.

“It is a labor of love and feeling…that to me is more than what the outcome of such endeavour shall be…one forgets the time, the hour the desires of normal existence, food water temperature…it’s just another world. ‘Music if it had not been in our lives, then life would have been a mistake’,” he added, according to a news agency.
