Border Guard Bangladesh personnel recovered 24 gold bars from Bhuidoba Sautalpara area under Panchbibi upazila in Joypurhat district on Wednesday. The BGB members also arrested a man in this connection. The arrested was identified as Mamunur Rashid, 35, son of Sahiruddin of South Basudevpur village under Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur district. Tipped-off, a team of BGB-3, team led by Habilder Sohel, conducted a drive in Bhuidoba Sautalpara in the morning and recovered the gold bars. The border force also arrested alleged smuggler Mamunur in this connection. Sources at the BGB-3 and local police station said the current market value of the seized gold would be approximately Tk 10 million, according to a news agency.
