President Hamid reaches London for treatment, checkup

President Md Abdul Hamid has reached London for treatment of his eye-problem and health checkup. Hamid is scheduled to have eye treatment at Moorfield Eye Hospital and heart checkup at Bupa Cromwell Hospital. The President was received by Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Md Abdul Hannan when the flight carrying him reached Heathrow Airport at 8.30pm on Sunday (local time). The President left Dhaka for the UK on August 23. Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Dean of Diplomatic Corps in Dhaka and British High Commissioner Robert Gibson saw him off at the airport. Senior officials including chiefs of the three services were also present. Hamid is expected to return home on August 31, according to a news agency.
