A boy was killed by a lightning strike at Lasmanpur Goalbari village in Sherpur Sadar upazila on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Ahalu Miah, 12, son of Akkel Miah, a resident of the village. Witnesses said a thunderbolt struck Ahalu while he was cutting grass in a field in the area amid rain at about 3:30 pm, leaving him dead on the spot. Lasmanpur union parishad chairman Minhaj Uddin Minal confirmed the incident, according to a news agency.
