Sixteen days after he was killed by assailants at Gulshan in Dhaka, the body of Italian national Cesare Tavella will be flown to Italy on Wednesday. “We have learnt through the Italian embassy that the body of Cesare Tavella will be taken to Italy on Wednesday. ‘Homebound’ - a global and local transportation service company, will be delivering the body there,” police said.
Miscreants sprayed bullets on Cesare Tavella, 50, Project Manager for PROOFS (Profitable Opportunities for Food Security) of the Netherlands-based non-governmental organisation ‘ICCO Cooperation’, on Gulshan’s Road 90, just off Gulshan Avenue and some 500 metres off Gulshan Police Station, as dusk fell on September 28. He died from excessive loss of blood while being moved to nearby United Hospitals. Since completion of the postmortem, the body has been kept at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) mortuary, according to a news agency.
