Russian envoy: 2 drops of water don't mean rainfall

Though a number of countries sought additional security measures for diplomats and their nationals Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh feels that the country’s present situation is peaceful. Alexander A Nikolaev has said two drops of water do not mean that it is raining as a peaceful environment is prevailing in Bangladesh. “Two drops of water don’t mean rainfall,” he said, adding “Russia is also concerned following the killing of two foreign nationals in Bangladesh.” Nikolaev said that he knows why this is happening in Bangladesh and mentioned that a peaceful and nice environment is prevailing in the country for many days.

Earlier, Malaysian High Commissioner in Dhaka Norlin Binte Othman expressed identical views on Bangladesh’s current situation. She said on Tuesday that Malaysians have no problem with security situation in Bangladesh and are comfortable with the current environment. "We don't have any problem (regarding security issues)," she told reporters at a press briefing in a city hotel. Norlin said they even did not issue any travel alerts for their nationals who are in Bangladesh and those who want to arrive here. “Even we didn’t close our office.” The envoy also said people, including businessmen, are coming to Bangladesh to attend the fourth Showcase Malaysia in Dhaka without any problem. “You see my officials came from Malaysia and India,” Norlin said adding that ‘it speaks itself,’ according to a news agency.
