Bangladesh, India, Pak tri-series likely

Three SAARC countries – Bangladesh, India and Pakistan – are likely to play a tri-series in the coming winter. A reliable source at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) told a news agency that the three neighbouring countries will play the series in India and Bangladesh. Te BCCI is considering the three-nation cricket meet in case the planned series between Pakistan and India is not held.
According to the source, BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur and Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shahryar Khan sat in a meeting in Middle-Eastern city of Dubai where they discussed the possibilities of holding a tri-series involving three Test-playing countries of the eight-nation South Asian regional group - SAARC.

The series will be held if Pakistan-India series is not held in December, the sources said in Dubai on Wednesday.

Earlier, the PCB chairman had written a letter to BCCI seeking confirmation on the series to which the Indian board did not reply; however, the sources said, a reply was expected in this (October) month, according to a news agency.
