Dhaka’s development agency RAJUK is launching online services for building and occupancy permissions. The services will start with Dhanmondi and Lalbagh areas under Dhaka South City Corporation. All other areas in the city would be brought under the service gradually, according to the Housing and Public Works Ministry. While addressing a programme in Dhaka, Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain has said that the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) would launch the services with the help of World Bank’s International Finance Corporation (IFC). He hoped corruption, delay and sufferings in capital Dhaka’s construction sector would drop once the services were launched. “The applicants will be able to know where their files are and how much time will be needed for clearance even with SMS,” he said, according to a news agency.
