A cattle trader, who fell unconscious after having a meal along with 35 people at a restaurant at Bypass cattle market in Rajshahi city on Sunday, died in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) on early Monday. The deceased was identified as Jaj Miah, son of Fazlur Rahman, hailing from Shibpur village of Shibpur upazila in Narshingdi district. Jaj Miah died at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of RMCH around 5am, said ICU head Golam Mostafa. On information, police recovered the body. Earlier, at least 35 people, including some cattle traders, fell unconscious after having a meal at a restaurant at Bypass cattle market in the city on Sunday. Amzad Hossain, a victim, said around 40 cattle traders and truck drivers went to Bypass cattle market in the city on Sunday for purchasing cattle ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. Later, they entered a restaurant named ‘Jafor’s Hotel’ inside the cattle market around 10 am having a meal of rice and beef curry. After having their meals, the cattle traders fell unconscious one after another around 10:45 am. Among them, seven were rushed to RMCH. Police arrested four people, including the son of restaurant owner Foysal Hossain, in this connection, according to UNB.
