BCL leader missing in boat capsize

A local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League went missing as a boat capsized after being hit by a sand-laden trawler in the Bongshi river in Bank Town area of Savar upazila of Dhaka district on Saturday evening. The victim was identified as Didarul Arefin Pinak, son of Abdul Malek, a resident of Pouro Arpara area and he was former joint general secretary of Ashuliya thana Chhatra League. SM Kamruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station, said five BCL leaders, including Pinak, were returning from Keraniganj after a boat journey in the river. The boat carrying them capsized in the area in the evening after being hit by the trawler. Four other BCL leaders managed to swim ashore but Pinak went missing after the incident, according to a news agency.
