Over 1,000 sick pilgrims in Saudi hospitals

At least 1,000 pilgrims, who have come to Saudi Arabia to perform this season’s Holy Hajj which ended on September 25, are receiving treatment in a number of hospitals in Makkah after falling sick earlier this month. Health Ministry’s spokesman Faisal Al-Zahrani said more than 1,000 pilgrims are till getting treatment for various ailments in different hospitals in the Holy city of Makkah since the onset of Hajj season this year. He said the patients also include some pilgrims who were injured in the crane crash in the Grand Mosque on September 11, 2015, and others who sustained injuries during the Mina stampede on September 24. Zahrani said a total of 352 pilgrims who were injured during the stampede were transported to specialised hospitals outside the holy sites.
