Malaysia to take more Bangladesh workers under G2G process: Minister

Malaysia will fulfill a significant portion of the demand for extra work force from Bangladesh, Secretary General of Malaysian Human Resources Ministry Datuk Seri Haji Saripuddin Bin Haji said in Dhaka on Monday. During a meeting with Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali at foreign ministry, the secretary general also said that Malaysia has a plan to officially declare Bangladesh as a 'source country for labor force'.

Haji Saripuddin briefed foreign minister the outcome of the 6th Joint Working Group meeting held today at the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare & Overseas Employment including 'G to G Plus' mechanism for recruitment of Bangladeshi workers. He also stated that Malaysia has opened all of its sectors including construction and services for Bangladesh.

Foreign Minister Mahmood Ali apprised the Secretary General Haji Saripuddin various initiatives taken by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the welfare of Bangladesh workers employed abroad, according to a news agency.
