Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) personnel in a drive arrested three people along with three firearms, 170 grams of cocaine and bomb making materials from Jhumjhumpur area in sadar upazila of Jessore district on Monday. The arrestees were identified as Sumon, son of Abdul Mazid, a resident of Umarpara in the area, Mesbahul Islam, son of Mahbubul Islam, a resident of Bokchar area in the town, and Imran Sabuj, son of Mostafa Ali, a resident of Newsprint Paper Mill area under Khalishpur police station of Khulna. Deputy Director of Rab-6 Squadron Leader Kawser Hossain said on secret information that wanted terrorist Javed and his cohorts were staying at Jhumjhumpur, a team of Rab conducted a raid in the area at night and arrested Sumon, Mesbah and Imran along with three firearms, 170 grams of cocaine worth of Tk 50 million, some bomb making materials and two motorcycles. However, Javed managed to flee away from the scene. Sumon, Mesbah and Imran are wanted in several cases filed with different police stations. A case was filed in this connection, according to a news agency.
