Interpol issues red alert on Kamrul

The International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) has issued a red alert notice on Bangladesh expatriate Kamrul Islam, one of the main accused in beating and killing of 13-year-old Rajon in Sylhet. "Bangladesh requested the Interpol for issuing red alert on Kamrul Islam, who is now under custody of Saudi Arabian police, to brining back," Assistant Inspector General (AIG) NCB (Interpol) Mahbubur Rahman has said over phone. He said the Saudi authority has also agreed to send Kamrul through Interpol. The Saudi government offices have been closed on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr since late last week and Kamrul’s repatriation might have to wait till the offices reopen," Mahbub said. According to the Interpol website, Kamrul Islam is wanted by the judicial authorities of Bangladesh for prosecution purpose. The Interpol also published the particulars of Kamrul for identification including name, date of birth, place of birth and nationality. Earlier, Saudi Arabian police arrested Kamrul from Jeddah with the help of some Bangladeshi migrants in connection with Samiul Alam Rajon’s murder case in Sylhet.
