A Minor schoolgirl killed after rape

A minor schoolgirl has been killed after rape allegedly by two identified local criminals in Naldanga upazila in Natore. The victim was a resident of Yarpur village and a student of class V in Yarpur Primary School. Police and locals said Mobarok Hossain Kalu, reportedly a miscreant and also the victim’s cousin, took the girl from her school to a place in Yarpur village telling about buying her chocolates. Kalu and his friend Mithun allegedly raped the girl, killed her and dumped the body in a mango orchard, adjacent to the Sluice Gate area in Yarpur. Later locals found the body in the mango orchard and informed police who recovered the body and sent it to Natore Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Police arrested Kalu from Sherkol area of Singra upazila and Mithun from his house. Agitated people vandalised the house of accused Kalu, said Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sherdanga police station, according to a news agency.
