The Barcelona forward curled home a free-kick after only 12 minutes, and Luan added a second after the break. Brazil will now play Honduras in Wednesday's semi-finals after they won 1-0 against South Korea, thanks to Alberth Elis's winner.

Germany play Nigeria in the other last-four match. The Africans beat Denmark 2-0 in their quarter-final, while Germany won 4-0 against Portugal. Brazil's second pool win came after 0-0 draws with Iraq and South Africa, and a 4-0 victory over Denmark.

Neymar, the poster boy for the Games, finally got off the mark at the fourth attempt when he curled home from 25 yards out. Brazil made sure of a place in their third consecutive Olympic semi-final when Luan's effort from outside the area beat goalkeeper Cristian Bonilla.

Bollywood star Irrfan Khan, who visited Bangladesh recently, says he is not afraid to go back to Bangladesh.

"Why should I be scared, I will go back to Bangladesh if I have to," said Irrfan Khan, who made a huge mark with his role in the 'Life of Pi".

The popular film actor called on all 'progressive Muslims', including those in Bangladesh to condemn acts of terror.

Many Indian celebrities seem to have deferred or cancelled their impending tours of Bangladesh.

"But I will go back to Bangladesh if I have to, if I am called. It is lovely place," said Irrfan, who recently was in Bangladesh to shoot for Mostafa Sarwar Farooki's "No Bed of Roses", according to bdnews24.com.

Dhaka cafe worker says staff were locked in toilet

Militants locked Holey Artisan Bakery workers in a toilet during the deadly overnight standoff at the cafe in Dhaka, a member of the eatery’s staff, who was among the hostages, has said.

The cafe worker, Imam Hossain Sabuj, said on Saturday that ‘some’ people put 10-15 cafe workers in a small toilet in the night of July 1.

Sabuj couldn’t remember every one of those with him in the toilet that night. His father Abdul Khaleq said he was recovering from a mental breakdown he suffered after surviving the attack in which 22 persons, including 17 foreigners and two policemen, were killed by the militants.

An official report on the country's ready-made garment industry shows poor compliance with regard to issuance of appointment letters and identity cards to the workers, preserving their service records and granting maternity leave and other lawful benefits to them.

In the absence of appointment letters, service books and ID cards, the workers are deprived of their lawful rights and benefits. Such deprivation took place in the cases of Tazreen fashion and Rana Plaza workers, labour leaders alleged.
