Wednesday is set to maintain the macabre vibe of the famous Addams family.

Wednesday is set to maintain the macabre vibe of the famous Addams family.

The Addams Family was first introduced in the 1930s by American cartoonist Charles Addams. An aristocratic family with ties to supernatural beings displaying comedy became a quick success in America.

The comic series was adapted into TV series, live-action and animated movies numerous times. The Addams couple had its influence on recent Halloween trends too, with people dressing up like them and this Halloween dress-up being popular on social media.

Recently, Netflix took the initiative to revive the fame of the ‘90s Addams Family films by creating a spin-off show based on the eldest Addams child, Wednesday.

Tim Burton was chosen to direct half of the episodes; he is acclaimed for his Gothic Fantasy genre shows. With him as director, Wednesday is set to maintain the macabre vibe of the famous Addams family.

In the previous depictions, Wednesday Addams was a child. But in this show, she is now an adolescent, getting kicked out of multiple schools for torturing her peers and finally admitting herself to the Nevermore Academy, where her parents went.

This boarding school is a reminder of Hogwarts from Harry Potter, with a gothic tinge. This is a haven for outcasts such as sirens, werewolves, and vampires—also for Wednesday. There she finds Enid Sinclair as her roommate, a cheerful and trigger-happy werewolf, a perfect foil to Wednesday's dark character.

The Addams Family is nothing without mystery and drama, and Wednesday is no exception. Even before going to the Nevermore Academy, she has future visions of whoever she touches. While studying in the academy, she gets visions of her classmates getting killed by monsters and also witnesses them, but the victims seem to survive the next day.

Everyone questions her sanity, but she doesn’t stop until she finds answers. She enlists the help of Thing, just a disembodied hand and one of the Addams family mysteries, Tyler – a normal teenager and son of the local sheriff, famous uncle Fester, and obviously, Enid.

Wednesday finds out this murder mystery involves the nearby town of Jericho and even her parents, who were suspected of murder 30 years ago.

As a teenager with an adult mind, Wednesday finds a variety of challenges. She seems to enjoy being the outcast among other outcasts, but deep inside she struggles to socialize with her friends.

Meanwhile, the murder mystery starts to get convoluted more and more, even resulting in her expulsion from Nevermore. Can she solve this mystery while trying to save herself? This series has the answer.

Tim Burton is excellent at depicting gothic-influenced drama, and Wednesday is no exception. The first four episodes were a treat to watch. The last four episodes seem to disrupt the Tim Burton flow as they were directed by different directors. Yet, they manage to keep Wednesday in the spotlight.

Wednesday is a misanthrope and has a dark, twisted mind. But she deeply cares for people she finds reliable. With hints of another season, the audience will get to see more shades of this complex character.

She wants Jennifer Lopez's body, Shilpa Shetty says

Shilpa Shetty has said that like everyone else, she too has people she looks up to for beauty goals. She said that she wants a body like Jennifer Lopez's, and would like to look her best at the age of 65.

Actor Shilpa Shetty, who is set to make an acting comeback after more than a decade, has said that even she has people she looks up to for beauty goals. She said that she would like to have Jennifer Lopez's body.

Shilpa Shetty was asked about the compliments she receives for her appearance at 46. She admitted that she gets complimented a lot, but noted that it requires effort.

She told The Quint, "I will not deny it. I will accept that many people say this. Aur main appreciate karti hu ke yeh acknowledge karte hain ke mehnat jaari hai (And I appreciate that the effort is acknowledged). I feel like when they acknowledge, it seems like the yoga worked."

She said that after the birth of her first child, Viaan, she put on 32 kgs. "I just let go of myself. Main paagal ho gayi thi, main sab kuch kha rahi thi, mujhe toh reason chahiye tha khaane ke liye (I went mad, I would eat everything, I didn't need a reason to eat). Toh maine ek din realise kiya ke bhaiya maine bohot saara weight put on kar liya hai (One day I realised that I'd put on a lot of weight). So I'm also like you guys, it's not like it comes naturally. So if I were not to take care of myselg, if I was not disciplined, I would also put on weight. I prioritise what is important, what is not, and I live by yogic principles. I want to have JLo's body! We all have benchmarks. She's 52 I think, and that's amazing. I mean, look at that! There are people who inspire me, too. And I want to be my best when I'm 65," she said.

Bipasha Basu’s next ‘Bhai Must be Crazy’

Bipasha Basu’s next ‘Bhai Must be Crazy’

Bipiasha will star as an intelligence officer in the upcoming comedy flick ‘Bhai Must Be Crazy’.

The film is being directed by the debutant Vinay Sharma, who earlier scripted Sanjay Dutt- Vivek Oberoi starrer Zila Ghaziabad.
Mika Singh has been roped in for composing the music.
Speaking about the film, Vinay Sharma said that Bhai Must Be Crazy is about Bipasha's character chasing Pankaj Kapur, who plays an international don in the film. He added that Bipasha Basu, who will be making an entry with paragliding, has some solid action in the climax. He reasoned that he signed Bipasha Basu because he wanted a tough actress for the role and she fitted the role perfectly. Besides Pankaj Kapur and Bipasha Basu, Bhai Must Be Crazy also stars Sunil Grover (of 'Gutthi' fane) who will be seen playing the role of a tribal in the film.
While Vinay Sharma will be shooting a small portion with Sunil Grover from January 5 in Nepal, his team will be heading to Bangkok in February for a 45-day schedule, according to a news agency.
